Laura Belém participates in the collective exhibition “Plural Domains. Selected Works from The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation Collection” with the installation “Sculpture Garden II” (2011). The show takes place at MAZ - Museo de Arte de Zapopan (Jalisco, México) and is curated by Jesus Fuenmayor and Deij Prado.
The exhibition's curatorial approach makes us reflect on the The old dichotomies that drove continental art, to wit: tradition vs. revolution; localisms vs. universalisms; the figurative vs. the abstract; political-apolitical; public-private; and so many other categories that infused certainty into the debate on regional art, are no longer operative in the contemporary world.
