Luiza Lükáh Porto Alegre, Brazil, b. 1994

Luiza Lükáh develops a painting practice centered on the observation of cycles of transformation in nature. Born in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, she spent much of her life in a rural area, an experience that informs her attention to forms, textures, flows, and the relationships between different organisms and environments. Working primarily in oil painting, her research brings together recognizable references and ambiguous forms, constructing images that seem to inhabit transitional states between emergence, dissolution, and transformation.

In her paintings, contrasts between delicacy and roughness, rigidity and flexibility, light and darkness establish dense atmospheres in which body, matter, and environment become intertwined. Lükáh investigates what remains between the visible and the concealed, creating forms that evoke organisms, archaic memories, and landscapes in the process of formation. Intervals, germination, and the coexistence of seemingly contradictory forces are recurring elements in a body of work marked by mystery and the instability of forms.

Luíza Lükáh (b. 1994, Porto Alegre, Brazil) lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. She holds a degree in Visual Design from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing, Porto Alegre, and, since 2024, has been co-founder and producer of the independent art space VIRTUA3000.
