Laura Belém | Enamorados

Next Saturday, May 28, Laura Belém inaugurates at Instituto Inhotim the work “Enamorated” as part of the program “Acerco em Movimento”.

The artist’s work was exhibited for the first time in 2004 in Belo Horizonte, at Lagoa da Pampulha, and in the next year at 51st Veneza Biennial. In 2022, the work composed by two rowing boats equipped with spotlights that illuminate eachother, will be on display at the lagoon between the galleries Mata and True Rouge, Inhotim, Brumadinho.

“Enamorated” has an act almost ritualistic by the illuminated objects, face to face arranged. The lights of one of the boats goes on, meanwhile the other is still off. After 20 seconds, they reverse. The lights of both boats gets simultaneously on, and in the end all of them are off. The cicle is automatically repeated.
